The Doris Crossley Foundation are thrilled to announce that our 2022 Undergraduate Class has produced 13 graduates! The Doris Crossley Foundation is proud to have supported these outstanding students and congratulates them on their achievement. As a foundation, we believe in investing in the education and development of our bursary recipients, and seeing them succeed brings us great joy. We wish them all the best as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.

We look forward to following the progress of our DCF graduates and seeing all the wonderful things they will accomplish in the future. Congratulations again to our 2022 graduates!

Meet some of our graduates:

Karli du Toit

Wow, crazy how time flies right. That’s the bad news. The good news is that you are the pilot. These past four years studying B. Agric Cellar Management and Cellar Technology have been some of the best years of my life – gaining knowledge, making lifelong friends and memories whilst developing as a young individual. Thank you Doris Crossley Foundation for this incredible investment in my future. Wherever I end up in the wine industry, I know I will always be able to look back fondly on my studying years with a heart full of gratitude towards the Foundation.

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful. ~ Albert Schweitzer

Malaika Mambwe

The road on which a refugee walks in South Africa is one with many hurdles. While access to education exists, assistance in obtaining this is almost non-existent. The Doris Crossley Foundation was the only foundation that looked upon me kindly in this regard and funded my studies. I’m extremely grateful to be a UCT degree holder because of this assistance. I look forward to furthering my studies at UCT this year, as my fire for learning hasn’t been extinguished yet.

Jeandré Steenkamp

Firstly I would start by thanking the Doris Crossley Foundation for the wonderful opportunity they gave me. Without their support and without this bursary I don’t know if I would’ve been able to complete this degree. The impact they make on people’s lives are unmeasurable and I thank them for that. Now that I have completed my first degree I’m already busy with my second degree, LLB (2 YR)(PG). I plan on finishing this degree at the end of 2024. The future after that is still a bit vague, but ultimately the plan is to become an advocate and it would be a big achievement if I could start my own legal firm. (But let me first focus on this degree).
Nthombizethu Cele

The Foundation assisted me with accommodation funding which is something very difficult to secure especially if you’re not a first year student. I’m looking forward to kickstarting my career and seeing what the next chapter of my life has in store.

Godswill Agubata
Without the Doris Crossley Foundation, you would not be looking at a graduate with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Making strides in the working world within the field of finance is my main focus. Thank you to the Doris Crossley Foundation for situating me in an advantageous position.

Simthandile Witbooi

The Doris Crossley Foundation’s support was incredibly helpful and valuable in ways I cannot begin to describe during my undergrad journey. I am deeply appreciative to have been able to receive the financial assistance to cover my fees and invest in resources conducive to my personal and professional growth as an aspiring Clinical Psychologist. I am doing Psychology Honours this year and I am excited to continue on this journey to one day contribute to the provision of accessible and socially conscious mental healthcare in South Africa.
