Supporting Pediatric Well-being: A Visit to St Joseph’s

The Harry Crossley Foundation (HCF) team recently visited St Joseph’s, a pediatric care facility in Cape Town. St Joseph’s is dedicated to providing holistic, family-centred intermediate care for children facing life-threatening and life-limiting conditions, facilitating their integration into homes, schools, and communities at their optimal level of functioning.

The facility provides a variety of crucial services such as social work, counseling, palliative care, therapy, nursing, specialized care, and medical support. HCF has been actively supporting St. Joseph’s by investing in training programs that enhance the clinical skills and knowledge of their team.

During their visit, the HCF team had the chance to interact with the committed staff at St. Joseph’s, gaining valuable insights into their impactful work. They were given a tour of the facility, exploring various areas such as the rehabilitation center, the kitchens, out-door play areas, the garden, and different wards that cater to the diverse needs of the children under their care.

Witnessing firsthand the critical services and compassionate care provided by St Joseph’s, HCF expressed pride in their partnership and looks forward to continuing to support the organisation.
