On the 10th of September, the Harry Crossley Foundation team headed out to the Ladles of Love Headquarters in Epping. The plan was to meet up with Danny Diliberto and to go out to the Honey-Bee Educare school in Denoon that we proudly sponsor meals for. The group arrived at the ECD Centre, which is located in the middle of the Denoon township, Cape Town. We were greeted with countless hugs, hellos and high fives from the 97 children who attend this school.
The Harry Crossley Foundation funds the entire year of groceries supplied by Ladles of Love to ensure that these 97 children are fed. These basic ingredients are used to provide 2 meals per day for each child attending the school. The children have a porridge breakfast and a cooked lunch. The school is well run but the need for additional school supplies such as colourful posters, toys, puzzles and stationery was evident. Harry Crossley Foundation is grateful for community leaders like the headmistress of this small school, for the difference that they make in their communities as well as the hard work the Danny and his Ladles of Love team do.
