We are always thrilled to hear from our Fellows and this just in from Robbie Ordelheide. Robbie was part of the 2017 cohort of HCF Fellows at UCT – we were thrilled with Robbie’s results and we are very happy to hear of the contribution he is making down under in rebuilding Christchurch in New Zealand.
“I was awarded the Harry Crossley Fellowship in 2017 to complete the Master of City and Regional Planning programme at the University of Cape Town. I graduated with distinction at the end of 2017 and started a year-long internship with the Western Cape Government in the Spatial Planning Directorate. As part of this internship, I assisted the Chief Planners in developing Spatial Development Frameworks for the municipalities of Oudtshoorn, Kannaland, Prince Albert, Knysna, and the Central Karoo District. At the beginning of 2019, I was hired by the Christchurch City Council in New Zealand to join their land use planning team as a resource consent planner. I am excited to be a member of the City Council team tasked with rebuilding Christchurch following the earthquakes of 2010 and 2011. I am deeply appreciative of the assistance the Harry Crossley Foundation provided in helping me grow into the urban planner I am today.”
