The Harry Crossley Foundation had the privilege of visiting Infinity Culinary Training (ICT), a non-profit culinary school in Cape Town. ICT offers a comprehensive chef training program to aspiring students, and what sets it apart is that this program is provided at no cost to the students.
During our visit, the team had the opportunity to meet with the school’s coordinators, who provided us with an update on the school’s progress and the achievements of its students. The heart of ICT’s program lies in a six-month training curriculum that encompasses fundamental cooking skills, invaluable on-the-job training opportunities where students are placed in real restaurants and 3 months of employment within the culinary industry. More often than not, these placements lead to full time employment and provide a significant step towards their professional careers.
In addition to their training, ICT students contribute to local communities through a commendable feeding program. They prepare meals for low-income communities, making a positive impact beyond the walls of their school.
Witnessing the dedication of the students and the unwavering commitment of the ICT team was a true pleasure. The Harry Crossley Foundation takes immense pride in being associated with a program that not only equips individuals with culinary skills but also leads them towards meaningful employment. We are excited about the prospects of these aspiring chefs and look forward to their culinary journeys ahead.
