On December 10th, Linda Whitfield-Fredman and Thuli Mashabane had the pleasure of attending Gradex, the annual exhibition hosted by the graduating class of the Stellenbosch Visual Arts Department. This inspiring event provides a platform for final-year students to showcase their creative work, and it was a privilege to witness the incredible talent on display.
The Doris Crossley Foundation has proudly supported Juliette De Beer in her pursuit of a BA degree in Visual Communication Design. We had the pleasure of viewing her work, which highlighted Skyns, a fashion brand she founded with the mission of raising awareness about the potential health impacts of the clothing we wear. Through her work, Juliette explores how certain materials may leach toxins onto our skin, posing risks to our well-being.
Juliette’s innovative approach and inspiring work earned her the award for “Best Overall Student” at the exhibition. This well-deserved recognition underscores her remarkable talent, dedication, and hard work.
Juliette we wish you well with your continued academic pursuits this next year and we know the sky is the limit for you!
You can follow Juliette De Beer on LinkedIn to learn more about Skyns and her work.
