A new year, a new adventure with our Doris Crossley Foundation undergraduate cohort. On the morning of the 13th April, Linda Whitfield, Thuli Mashabane and Kristin Larsen, set off to meet with 30 of our undergraduate students from UCT, Stellenbosch University, SEA, LAMTA and our teaching programmes. We all met at the Cool Runnings Toboggan Family Park in Durbanville, Cape Town, with the intention to reconnect with our students, meet new bursary recipients, to open lines of communication and to build new friendships across universities and faculties.
The day started with some oversized muffins, coffee and a quick welcome from Linda. Students were then given their toboggan tokens and were free to ride the toboggans or sit and chatter as they pleased. It was lovely to see everyone relax and enjoy their time with us. Once everyone was done with their rides we all sat down for our lunchtime hamburgers before being bussed back to campus.
