On July 18th, the Harry Crossley Foundation team came together to honour Mandela Day by giving back in a meaningful and hands-on way.
This year, we pledged to donate 22 Santa’s Shoeboxes, each carefully packed to bring joy and essential support to a child in need. Our team dedicated the time to wrap and fill each box with thoughtful items chosen to uplift and delight.
Every shoebox included:
-
A facecloth and bar of soap
-
Toothbrush and toothpaste
-
Sweets and a toy
-
A set of clothing
-
Crayons, notebooks, pencils, a sharpener, and erasers
These boxes are more than just gifts—they’re a reminder that every child matters and deserves to feel cared for and celebrated. It was a rewarding experience for all of us, and a small way to carry forward Nelson Mandela’s legacy of compassion, dignity, and community service.
