We were very happy to have attended the annual “ meet and greet” of recipients of funding from The Harry Crossley Foundation at the Cochlear Implant Unit at Tygerberg Hospital at the end of 2018
Each year a number of patients receive this life changing treatment as a result of the generosity of The Harry Crossley Foundation. It is one of the most special days of the year for us as we meet patients, young and old, whose lives have been changed with the newly achieved benefit of hearing.
While we are delighted for the older patients it is always the younger ones who really make such an impression. With the aid of bilateral implants the journey from silence into a world of sound, is just too wonderful for both the child, the parents and for us as Funders.
The Harry Crossley Foundation has been supporting this program since 2008 and over the past ten years it has assisted 95 patients in attaining cochlear implants. It is a program that we are very proud of.
We take this opportunity to thank the wonderful doctors, audiologists and speech therapists who make this dream possible – without them this program would not happen.
