There is nothing that makes us happier than to see the DCF and HCF students achieve.
A shining example of this is Dr Akudziwe Mawere. Akudziwe’s university transcripts read like magic and she graduated as a doctor in December 2022. Then came the wonderful news that she has been awarded a Rhodes Scholarship and will proceed to the University of Oxford to read toward an DPhil in Clinical Neurosciences. She is one of two Zimbabweans to receive this award.
Akudziwe told us that her graduating class were asked to wave their scrolls to the people who made their graduation possible.
She kindly said she waved her scroll to the Doris Crossley Foundation but actually she needed to wave it at herself. Akudziwe you are the pure example of dedication and tenacity when at times funding seemed to be impossible to find. We salute you with love.
